VATNHEIM VIKINGS LVING HISTORY SOCIETY is a registered, not-for-profit Living History group committed to providing the public with demonstrations of the Viking Age (950 – 1100 AD) life and culture using authentic presentations of living history, combat and other educational activities. We are passionate about education as well as entertainment.
Our goal is to improve the understanding and knowledge of all aspects of Viking life and the importance and impact the Viking culture had in history. Our demonstrations include village setups and daily life activities such as combat, cooking, a variety of knowledgeable craftspeople working with period tools and materials, grand storytelling of sagas and myths. This is why we call what we do Living History. Our members are knowledgeable and enthusiastic about sharing that knowledge with the public by demonstrating activities, engaging in conversations, and answering a wide variety of questions (yes, the fire is real, and yes, sheep really smell like that).
