
The Legendary “May Trainer”

NOTICE: Due to circumstances out of our control, this annual event has been moved to Brandon, MB for 2026. We’ll be back in full force at Valhalla Acres outside Saskatoon for 2027!
Participants can attend workshops to learn about combat and archery, as well as Dark Ages crafts and skills such as tablet weaving, dyeing, leatherworking, foraging & herbal medicine, Norse history, observe blacksmithing, and more during a weekend trainer in an informal, private rural setting.
NOTE: Space is limited. Participants MUST be a paid member of the Vatnheim Vikings Living History Society or the Markland Vikings to participate in activities. While attendance and observing is free for members, conditions and/or costs apply to actively participate in certain activities. All attendees are are expected to follow the Code of Ethics. Overnight campers are welcome, but be careful – you might not want to leave!

Kids enrolled in the Viking Summer Camp at the Museum of Antiquities, University of Saskatchewan will have the privilege of participating in Living History Demonstrations, Kiddie Vike and Viking games.

The Vatnheim Vikings will again be participating in the Viking Village at the huge 130-somethingth annual Manitoba Icelandic Festival in Gimli, Manitoba! View our best displays and combat shows in all their glory!
Come visit the Viking Village while you’re there, and meet Viking Living History re-enactors from all over North America!

CULTURE DAYS – Medieval Times
October 3, 2026 (tentative date), 12-4 pm
Convocation Hall, University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, SK
Join the Museum of Antiquities and the Vatnheim Vikings for a fun-filled day of Dark Ages and Medieval-themed activities including mock combats, crafts, games, and more! This event is free and open to all ages! (Who doesn’t love free!)
