Culture Days – Medieval Times

Join the Museum of Antiquities, the Vatnheim Vikings, the Barony of Myrgan Wood, and more for a fun-filled day of Dark Ages and Medieval-themed activities including crafts, mock combats, dark ages ale-brewing, and more!

Vatnheim Vikings Trainer
May 20-22, 2026
Valhalla Acres, near Saskatoon
Participants can attend workshops to learn about combat and archery, Dark Ages crafts, foraging & herbal medicine, Norse history, observe blacksmithing, and more during a weekend trainer in an informal, private rural setting just 20 minutes southeast of Saskatoon off Highway 16.
NOTE: While attendance and observing is free, conditions and/or costs apply to actively participate in certain activities and participants are expected to follow the Vatnheim Vikings Code of Ethics. Overnight campers welcome, but be careful – you might not want to leave!

Viking Kids Camps

Kids enrolled in the Viking Summer Camp at the Museum of Antiquities, University of Saskatchewan will have the privilege of participating in Living History Demonstrations, Kiddie Vike and Viking games.

The Vatnheim Vikings will again be participating in the Viking Village at the huge 130-somethingth annual Manitoba Icelandic Festival in Gimli, Manitoba! View our best displays and combat shows in all their glory!
Come visit the Viking Village while you’re there, and meet Viking Living History re-enactors from all over North America!
